May Scholarships for College Students 2023

College students are often encouraged to apply for financial aid, but scholarships are an excellent way to also help cover the cost of your studies. May scholarships for minority students in 2023

Minority students refer to those students who do not belong to the majority racial or ethnic group in the U.S. It includes, Black/African American, Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Hispanic, Pacific Islander, as well as Native American. Cost of College in May

The cost of college can vary greatly depending on each school. According to the College Board, the average cost of tuition and fees for a four-year public college was $10,440 in 2018–19 while private not-for-profit colleges charged an average of $36,880 per year. The most affordable schools are St Petersburg College in Florida with an annual tuition of $1,744; Montana State University-Northern with an annual tuition of $3,445, and Arkansas’ South Arkansas Community College with a cost of $3,588.

These three schools offer some of the lowest tuition rates in the country. In addition to tuition and fees associated with attending college, students must also consider living expenses such as room and board, books and supplies, transportation, and personal expenses. While the cost of college may seem daunting at first glance, there are various ways to make it more affordable such as scholarships, grants, work-study programs, and loans. By doing research and exploring all of your options when it comes to financing college expenses you can minimize the amount of debt you take on while still allowing yourself to pursue a higher education.
