How to ace the PMI Academic Scholarships
Revamp your résumé
Your resume needs to reflect your most recent relevant accomplishments. Add anything that may be missing. Remember to emphasize the value you added to teams you worked in instead of listing your job description. Brevity is your friend in résumé writing, so you should spend some time fine-tuning your word choice.
Write a winning essay
Begin by creating an outline that defines the structure and content of your essay. Write the first draft and revise it for clarity, coherence, and correctness. You may need to make five or more revisions to your first draft to get your essay in good shape. Schedule two more revision sessions at least two days apart to help you view your essay with a fresh eye.
Make a winning video
If you prefer to also submit a video, prepare your content by doing several practice voice notes to help you get your words right. For the video recording, make sure you shoot the video in landscape mode. Select a quiet place with a neutral background and good lighting. Ensure you dress suitably.
Seek feedback
Seek feedback from a few friends or mentors on your essay and video. Add in the suggested improvements and you’re good to go. Receiving a second or third opinion helps you see your essay from another viewpoint.
