Scholarships for Black Students

Annually, college students in the United States apply for the For A Bright Future Global Scholarship to complete their degree programs. The scholarship is renewable.

The CT and Shumaker Advisors offer the Edwin B. Hogan Memorial Scholarship to empower students of Black or African descent who are pursuing majors in civil engineering, planning, and architecture.

Students majoring in cosmetology at an accredited institute are eligible for the $5,000 scholarship from L’Oréal Professionnel.

Students that identify as black indigenous or persons of color and are pursuing a career in aesthetics, skincare formulation, and/or cosmetic chemistry are eligible for a $5,000 award.

Public Relations Society of America offers The Horace and Susie Revels Cayton Scholarship of $4,500 to enrolled undergraduate students pursuing public relations degrees in Washington.

The scholarship is for Black or African-American students in the U.S. who are enrolled in a cosmetology program that leads to licensure in either the U.S. or Canada.

The American Association of School Personnel Administrators (AASPA) offers the Leon Bradley Scholarship Program of $3,500 to two minority students of all levels pursuing teaching certificates in the U.S.

CT Consultants and Shumaker Advisors offer the Ohio Minority Engineering Student Scholarships (OMESS) of $2,500 to two Black students majoring in engineering at accredited Ohio colleges or universities.

Every year, the AICPA Fellowship for Minority Doctoral Students awards fellowships worth $12,000 to minority postgraduate students.

The Gates Scholarship annually offers 300 student leaders scholarships to help them maximize their full potential.

The NBCC Minority Fellowship Program is a $20,000- scholarship and fellowship program that supports mental-health counselors pursuing doctoral studies in the United States.

The Minority Fellowship Program for Mental Health Counselors is a program that supports mental health counselors and offers a $10,000- fellowship to graduate students pursuing their master’s in mental health.

The Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program of $2,800 is awarded to undergraduate or graduate students interested in advancing toward doctoral study upon completing their bachelor's degree.

Buckfire Law firm annually offers the Law School Diversity Scholarship Program to support law school students belonging to minority groups or demonstrating a defined commitment to issues of diversity.

Every year, the Buckfire Law firm offers one available scholarship valued at $2,000 per recipient for undergraduate study across the United States.

The Wellington Management Foundation offers the Wellington Management Foundation Scholarship of $5,000 to an African American college junior student to complete his/her studies.

The Legacy Lab Foundation, supported by The Giving Back Fund, is seeking Black or African American students enrolled in colleges, universities, or similar institutions (technical schools) in the United States.

The Scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in a teacher training program at a Connecticut college or university. Students in their junior or senior year and master’s students are eligible to apply.

The Oracle Corporate Scholars Program awards $10,000 to 10 college students each to further their education.

The Oracle Corporation, with the UNCF, offers 25 scholarships valued at $10,000 for undergraduate studies across the United States. Only African American, Hispanic, and Native American students are eligible.

In partnership with the American Water Works Association, Jacobs Holly A. Cornell Scholarship offers $10,000 to a minority postgraduate student interested in waterworks.

Every year, Arcadis awards a $5,000 scholarship to a student from an underrepresented racial and ethnic minority group who is pursuing a graduate degree in STEM fields.

NACME partners with like-minded entities to provide the NACME Scholars (Block Grant) Program of up to $16,000 for high-achieving, underrepresented minority college students pursuing careers in engineering and computer science.

The AABE National Scholarship awards $3,000–$5,000 to 13 graduating high school seniors of Hispanic, African American, or Native American ethnicity who will pursue studies in energy-related fields.

The Exelon Scholarship is a need-based financial scholarship given to African-American students per year for their four-year undergraduate studies in preparation for a career in Exelon and the energy industry.
