OMESS aims to provide financial assistance to minority students in the engineering field. The scholarship is sponsored by CT Consultants, Inc., in partnership with Shumaker Advisors, the Ohio Legislative Black Caucus (OLBC), and the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). CT Consultants, Inc. is an organization comprising planners, engineers, and architects who are dedicated to delivering quality architectural and engineering services to their clients.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must be of Black or African American descent. All applicants must also be enrolled at an accredited college or university within Ohio and be pursuing a qualifying engineering program. All OMESS scholarship awardees are expected to uphold a standard of conduct, as specified by the CT Scholarships Program Selection Committee.

Two entries are selected as the winners and are awarded $2,500. The awarded funds are sent directly to the financial office at the accredited institution in which the awardee is enrolled. Therefore, the funds are dedicated towards tuition first before other expenses.

CT Consultants offers more than one scholarship

CT Consultants awards two minority scholarships to two deserving students namely: Edwin B. Hogan Memorial Scholarship and OMESS.

Students can apply to both scholarships

Eligible students can apply for both the Edwin B. Hogan Memorial Scholarship and OMESS.

Scholarship is renewable for up to three years

As long as the scholarship awardees continue to meet the eligibility criteria, they can re-apply to renew their existing scholarships for up to three academic years.

Funds may cover other educational expenses

If tuition is fully covered by another source, the scholarship funds may be used for housing and board, fines or fees, meal plans, or other academic expenses associated with a college or institution.
