The Evans Scholarship is a full tuition and housing college scholarship for high-achieving caddies with limited financial means provided by the Evan Scholars Program.
The Evans Scholars Program is a philanthropic initiative that provides full, four-year tuition and housing college scholarships to excellent caddies. The Foundation is overseen by the Western Golf Association, which also runs six prestigious golf tournaments, including the BMW Championship.
To qualify, caddies must meet the requirements of having a strong caddies record, outstanding character, excellent academics and demonstrated financial need.

WGA was formed in 1899
11 Chicago-area golf clubs formed an organization to promote their interests in golf in 1899.
WGA offers many other scholarships
Many other scholarships are offered by the Western Golf Association to sponsor deserving individuals to college.
Evans Scholars Program was established in 1929
Famed golfer Charles “ Chick” Evans Jr. persuaded the WGA in 1929 to support his established charitable fund and send deserving caddies to college. The program awarded its first two scholarships in 1930.
Chick never played golf for money
As Chick Evan's fame grew, he was pressured to become a professional. To preserve his status, he placed his earnings in an escrow fund.
