Norman J. Crabtree

Norman J. Crabtree was an aviator who served with the U.S. Army Air Corps, the USAF, was an aviation advisor at Miami University and Columbus State, an instructor at Ohio University and The Ohio State University, and the Deputy Director for Aviation with the Ohio Department of Transportation. The scholarship was founded in recognition of his passion and dedication to aviation.

The Ohio Aviation Association was originally founded in October 1965 as the Ohio Ohio Airport Manager's Association. The association was initially made up of only airports but has expanded its membership to include various people and businesses across the industry.
