The NEWH Dallas Scholarship is part of the NEWH objective to promote interest and education in the hospitality industry and its related industries. The scholarship offers $1,000 to 10 students each, majoring in a hospitality-related field.
The scholarship is open to students (two-year program freshman and above, four-year sophomore/second year and above, or graduate level) schooling at an accredited college or university within the Dallas area. Applicants are required to have a minimum of 3.0 GPA, a majoring in a hospitality-related field, a career interest in the hospitality industry and demonstrate financial need.
The application process includes a 500-word essay, an official school transcript, and three letters of recommendation from someone with an academic or professional background such as employers, professors, or Dean.

Students can apply for two chapter scholarships
While you are encouraged to apply to the chapter that serves your school, if two chapters overlap, you can apply to both chapters. You are required to let the chapter know if you are a previous recipient of any NEWH scholarship.
Free NEWH membership
Although students are encouraged to be members of NEWH, you do not have to be a member to apply for the scholarship. Students who join receive free one-year NEWH membership.
Funds do not have to be used immediately
Scholarship funds can be used to cover current or upcoming tuition or program-approved books/supplies.
