Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a Texas-based organization that offers leadership conferences to members across the state of Texas. The organization also works towards ensuring that its members gain life skills through education in the family and consumer sciences areas. This scholarship is extended to graduating high school seniors who are not only members of FCCLA but are also interested in pursuing a career in family and consumer sciences.
Applicants must meet various requirements to be eligible for the scholarship. For example, they must be residents of the state of Texas and must also be graduating from a high school in the state. Additionally, they should have been an active member of FCCLA for at least one year.
Each year, the Scholarship awards ten winners awards of $2,250. This prize is renewable each semester the winner is enrolled in school as long as they satisfy the given criteria. Additionally, scholars attend the annual Texas FCCLA State Leadership Conference, which is an opportunity for them to network with other winners and members of the organization.
