Rural Development Homeownership Program. The scholarship grants one high school student looking to complete a two- to four-year undergraduate degree after graduation. The scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled at a high school in Delaware.
Applicants are expected to achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and provide an academic transcript confirming these marks. Two letters of recommendation, one from a high lecturer and another from a leader in the community, are needed for the application. Applicants are required to submit an essay of 500 words responding to the prompt provided by the scholarship.
DE NAHRO Board of Directors creates a subcommittee with the sole purpose of choosing the awardee. The scholarship winner will have the chance to apply for additional funding each year (up to three more years) as long as the required criteria are met.
