United Commercial Travelers
The Order of United Commercial Travelers of America (UCT) sponsors the UCT Heaston Scholarship Program. They are a society dedicated to providing accident insurance and other benefits to traveling salespeople and their families.
The three scholarships granted to three students are, The Betty Y. Heaston Memorial Scholarship – $3,000 per year for four years, The Jack Heaston Memorial Scholarship – $3,000 per year for four years, and The Jack & Betty Heaston Memorial Scholarship – $6,000 per year for four years.
All funding disbursed must be used for educational purposes. UCT sends the funds to the college or university.

Renewable scholarship
The scholarship is given to the winners yearly for the four years duration of their study.
In 2021, UCT launched Bridges of Friendship
The new award annually gives two local charitable groups, one in Canada and the other in the United States, cash awards of up to $5,000 each.
One application for all
For all three awards, the judges use the same application, and based on the applications, they will determine the amount awarded to a candidate.
The proof of enrollment is mandatory
The winners are to prove they have enrolled in a college before receiving the award. The prize is paid directly to the college. The winners are to provide this proof yearly for their scholarship renewal.
