Dropping out of college, for whatever reason, is a common reality for women. Because of this, the Albuquerque Community Foundation has created the Rae Lee Saporin Scholarship for Women, which is focused on helping women return to school. The award is worth up to $1,000 and is being offered to two women.

Since it is the whole purpose of this scholarship, the applicant has to be a woman who has taken an official break during her educational career. She must have completed all college years except for her senior year, and she must attend a New Mexico institution for the upcoming academic year. Applicants must not already have a bachelor’s degree.

As for applications, the process is simple. The applicant must submit an essay on what her plans for graduation are and if she can graduate within three semesters. Other than that, the Foundation requires a grade transcript from all institutions attended.
