Project Yellow Light Scholarship Competition is an annual contest for high school and college students in the United States. It comprises multiple competitions, including billboard, video, radio, and social video competitions. The video competition will have two winners, one each from high school and college applicants.

Project Yellow Light was founded in 2011 by Julie Garner, in the memory of her son who died in a car crash in 2007. The organization aims to raise awareness about safe driving through media campaigns and competitions. The first contest was held in 2011, for the video category only.

Applicants can submit any kind of video, including self or group featuring videos and animations. The videos have to be either 10 or 25 seconds in duration, nothing in between.

How the Project Yellow Light Scholarship Competition – Video is Judged

High school juniors and seniors, aged between 14 and 20, planning to attend an accredited institution can apply for the scholarship. Current college undergraduate students, aged 15 to 25, can also apply for the program. Students can also form teams of up to four individuals to participate.
