The Nurse Corps Scholarship Program is an award administered by the Bureau of Health Workforce (BHW) within the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to nursing students in the U.S in exchange for a minimum full-time two-year service at a Critical Shortage Facility upon graduation.
The Bureau of Health Workforce (BHW) aims to use the scholarship program to improve the health of underserved and vulnerable populations by strengthening the health workforce and connecting skilled professionals to communities in need.
The scholarship program assists in increasing the skilled workforce of Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs), women’s health nurses, and Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) who are trained to provide care for women, and practice in rural and underserved communities.
