The American Indian Service Scholarship program was established to help undergraduate American students with financial support to attend college, maintain enrollment, and graduate.

The scholarship is open to students that are enrolled members of a United States, Federally recognized American Indian or Alaska Native tribe, or descendants of a base roll member.

The scholarship awards are based on the need of the term the student is applying for and up to one-half of the tuition. Funds are sent directly to the school for the student.

The American Indian Services scholarship believes in promoting service to others. As a result, students are highly encouraged to participate in at least 20 hours of community service throughout the term they are awarded.

The number and amount of awards is subject to change

The number and amount of awards (for each deadline) may be subject to change. Also, receipt of a scholarship award in one term does not automatically guarantee receipt or the same amount in successive terms.

Award is only sustained with certain requirement

A student may no longer be eligible for funding for the term If the student falls below the minimum GPA requirement of 2.25 or drops below the 6 credits requirement.

The award is allocated directly to the school

The scholarship board sends all payments directly to the school on behalf of the student. The award is for a first bachelor’s degree only, graduate studies are not eligible.
