The North Dakota University System offers the North Dakota Indian Scholarship. It was created to provide scholarships to Indian students who meet certain criteria. The scholarship program gives scholarships to qualified undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in any institution of higher learning or state career and technical education program in the state.

A student may be eligible for an award if they demonstrate academic achievement or financial need. Under this merit and need-based program, enrolled members of federally recognized Indian tribes may be eligible for up to $2,000 in scholarship support per year. GPAs of 2.0 or better are required for recipients.

Under the merit-based program, those who apply must have a GPA of 3.0. All applicants must provide their financial information, grade transcripts, proof of enrollment, and proof of tribe enrollment.

You must have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Merit-based scholarships may be offered to students with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. If need-based, you must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0. Therefore, it is always best to keep your grades up for better chances of winning.

An applicant must be a resident of North Dakota and an enrolled member of a federally recognized Indian tribe.
