The Colorado Farm Show began in 1965 with its first show at the Greely Community Building. The idea was to serve the agricultural industry through better training and networking opportunities.
The three-day event is held annually and draws more than 30,000 visitors on average.

As part of its mission, the Colorado Farm Show awards educational scholarships to deserving students who are pursuing an agricultural major at a college, university, or trade school of their choice.

This year, it awarded ten high school seniors and two college students, interested in pursuing an education in agriculture, a total of $25,000 to help with their higher education goals and expenses. The scholarships range from $1,000 to $4,000 each. Applicants must submit an essay, a recommendation letter, a grade transcript, and proof of enrollment if required.
