The North Dakota Nurse Practitioner Association (NDNPA) was founded in 2005 by three proactive North Dakota nurse practitioners. The NDNPA board of directors approved the Health Policy scholarship fund in 2021 to further their mission of promoting quality health care in North Dakota. The scholarship enhances their goal of encouraging nurse practitioners to participate in the legislative and public policy processes.

The scholarship recipient will be expected to attend the AANP Health Policy Conference in Washington, DC in the spring. A $2,500 award will be given to one resident of North Dakota pursuing a graduate degree with a nurse practitioner focus to cover the cost of attending this conference. The NDNPA Board Members-at-Large are in charge of distributing the scholarship essays to an independent outside selection committee.

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be actively enrolled in graduate nursing education with a primary focus on being a nurse practitioner. Applicants must have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours of graduate coursework. The scholarship winner will be notified and recognized at the NDNPA annual Pharmacology Conference.
