The North Dakota Nurse Practitioner Association (NDNPA) was founded in 2005 as a result of a statewide grassroots effort spearheaded by three forward-thinking North Dakota nurse practitioners. Since then, the organization has elected officers, established bylaws, worked on critical legislative issues, networked with other states, regional, and national nursing organizations, and hosted an annual pharmacology conference. NDNPA’s mission is to promote quality healthcare in North Dakota by providing support, advocacy, leadership, and continuing education to nurse practitioners.

The NDNPA established a scholarship fund to further its mission of promoting quality healthcare in North Dakota through support, advocacy, leadership, and continuing education of nurse practitioners. Two North Dakota residents, pursuing a graduate degree with a nurse practitioner focus, will each receive a $1,000 scholarship. The scholarship essays are distributed to an independent outside selection committee by NDNPA Board Members-at-Large.

An applicant must be actively enrolled in graduate nursing education, with a primary focus on being a nurse practitioner. The scholarship recipients must be present at the conference for the scholarship award to be presented to them. They will be notified of their selection and honored at the Pharmacology Conference.
