How to ace the NANOG Scholarship Program

1

Cultivate academic excellence

A minimum grade point average of 3.0 is required and considered for one’s eligibility (or its equivalent.) Make sure your academic transcripts and résumé are in good working order before submitting them.

2

Stand out from the crowd

The scholarship gives you the opportunity to talk more about yourself, your interests, and your ambitions. If you qualify, your writing should focus on life experiences that have shaped you. Share your most meaningful characteristics and hobbies to stand out. This will give them a better idea of who you are outside of your application.

3

Have your essay reviewed

Ask a trusted friend or an advisor to review your statement. It’s always a good idea for someone other than you to read your work as they can give you feedback on readability and identify areas for improvement.

4

Select a recommender wisely

Notify your recommender about the scholarship as soon as possible. Choose someone who knows you well and can speak to not only your intelligence and academic performance, but your personality as well.

How the NANOG Scholarship Program is Judged
