The Michigan Oil & Gas Producers Education Foundation Scholarship is an initiative of the Michigan Oil and Gas Association (MOGA). The MOGA academic scholarship is funded by contributions to honor the memory of Michigan oil and gas industry veterans Tony Howard, James Bigard, and William Roth.

This scholarship initiative is committed to ensuring that today’s talented young minds have the skills, information, and resources they need to flourish and drive Michigan state. It is open to all Michigan students currently enrolled in accredited Michigan colleges or universities. Students must be pursuing a course of study affiliated with the state’s oil and natural gas industry.

The winning scholarship entry is awarded a minimum cash prize of $500. This amount is paid directly to the educational institution the winner is enrolled in. This award can be used to cover tuition and other related educational expenses.

The money allocated to initiate this scholarship program was sourced through contributions from generous donors, with subsequent contributions to the funds aiding to accomplish EEM’s objective.

The scholarship traces its roots to 2005 and has since then awarded 42 students with scholarships worth $500 each between the years 2007 and 2015.
