Maryland Higher Education Commission

MHEC is an administrative board in Maryland that is responsible for managing public and private colleges and universities in the state. The winning scholarship entry is awarded an amount between $1,000 and $5,000. This award money is sent directly to the institution in which the recipient is enrolled. The funds can be used to cater for tuition, fees, room and board, and other educational expenses.

A student may appeal to stop their scholarship if they are in a position to settle their tuition fees and other educational-related expenses.
