The Kansas Nursing Service Scholarship was founded by the Kansas Board of Regents to encourage students in Kansas to enroll in courses that train licensed practical nurses and registered nurses. Applicants have the opportunity to win two scholarships valued between $3,500 and $4,500.
Scholarship awardees must sign an agreement obligating them to practice nursing at a certain facility for one year for each year they are awarded a scholarship. Candidates with degrees, who do not currently hold a license as a licensed practical nurse or registered nurse, are eligible to apply.
To be eligible, applicants must be accepted into a Kansas nursing school, submit a FAFSA, finish the State of Kansas Student Aid Application, or mail a paper copy to the Kansas Board of Regents. They must also be enrolled in a course with 12 credits or more.
