The Indiana Latino Institute (ILI) is a nonprofit agency that addresses important issues facing Latino communities in Indiana. The institute was established in 2001, and since then has continued on a mission to improve health and advance education for the Indiana Latino Community through research, advocacy, and several programs and initiatives. Latino Hoosiers have benefited from the institute, especially from concentrated efforts in the 10 Indiana counties with the highest percentages of Latinos.
The ILI boasts of several partnerships with associations and agencies that are committed to the growth and empowerment of Latino communities. ILI focuses on health and education as core areas that will help the Indiana Latino community become a stronger and thriving population.
Every year, the institute offers a $1,000 scholarship to 15 high school graduates and college students. The scholarship can be used at any of the universities listed above. Priority will be given to Latino first-generation college students who are residents of Indiana.

The institute manages college access programs
The institute offers college coaching, college preparation workshops, and presentations to help Indiana high school students with college applications, financial aid, and career explorations.
Community service is a must
Applicants must be actively serving their communities.
The institute manages internship programs
ILI provides students with summer internships with partner organizations to help them gain real-world experience and develop their résumés, interns are also awarded $2,400 scholarships after the internship.
ILI manages paid fellowship programs
The ILI partners with corporate institutions to provide paid fellowships for college seniors and graduate students, fellows will be paid up to $6,000 to be used at their discretion.
The institute hosts an education summit
The institute hosts an annual free virtual education summit for high school students and parents to learn how to successfully prepare for college.
