Trustee Emeritus Rice, along with LeadMN, has established the annual Christine Rice Annual Scholarship in honor of her legacy. Rice was passionate about public education; and as a scholarship recipient herself, she understands the value of helping ease the financial burden of students.

Christine Rice Annual Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to female students who are pursuing a degree in health-related courses. It is open to high school graduates, and undergraduate students with a cumulative grade point (GPA) of 2.5 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) and must also be a citizen of the United States of America and a resident of Minnesota.

Applicants are to submit their transcripts, personal statement, and letter of need along with their financial information. Four winners receive $1,250 each year.
