The Georgia Hope Zell Miller Scholarship, administered by Helping Outstanding Pupils Educationally (HOPE), is created to financially support exceptional high school graduates and undergraduate students who demonstrate academic excellence. The scholarship program is merit-based and restricted to Georgia residents.
Annually, Helping Outstanding Pupils Educationally (HOPE) offers college students from $20,000 to $60,000 scholarships. Applicants of the Zell Miller Scholarship must be high school graduates with a minimum 3.70 grade point average combined with a minimum SAT score of 1200 on the math and reading portions or a minimum composite ACT score of in a single national test administration and maintain a minimum 3.30 cumulative postsecondary grade point average to remain eligible. Eligible applicants are provided a higher scholarship amount while pursuing an undergraduate degree at a Zell Miller Scholarship eligible college or university in Georgia.

Since its creation, the initiative has helped more than 1.8 million students get a higher education. Helping Outstanding Pupils Educationally (HOPE) has provided more than $10 billion of financial assistance for educational programs beyond high school.
