The Higher Foundation was founded by Mallorye Crowell in February 2017, after she graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in May 2016. During her college journey, Mallorye overcame financial troubles, housing instability, food insecurity, and more. She made a vow to God in her final semester of college to create a nonprofit organization to help college students overcome the same challenges she faced.

Mallorye currently serves as the president of Higher Foundation with the mission of promoting post-secondary education by providing assistance to Georgia college students. The foundation aims to see every Georgian with a college degree and fulfilled in their career.

In an effort to achieve this mission, the Higher Foundation annually awards three Georgia college students $1,000 scholarships to help with their expenses.
