Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta was established in 1951 to highlight issues that confront different communities across the U.S. Currently, the organization has nearly 800 foundations operating in the country.

The Tech High School Alumni Assoc./W.O. Cheney Merit Scholarship is meant for students who are interested in pursuing a degree in one of the STEM fields. This can be in engineering, mathematics, and other physical sciences.

The students must be admitted to a four-year college program at an accredited institution before applying. The minimum cumulative GPA for applicants is 3.0.
