In 1964, the Baton Rouge Area Foundation was established with a mission to support benefactors in furthering their causes for the welfare of South Louisiana’s community. They achieve their mission by providing assistance to benefactors to increase the assets that support projects and initiatives and incorporating community leaders in the development of adequate solutions to new possibilities and obstacles.
Baton Rouge Area Foundation funds the Stephen W. Cavanaugh Scholarship Program. In 2020, alone $165,000 were disbursed on scholarships. This scholarship program brings students to a secure learning setting that is both welcoming and resource-rich.
The program also enables them to get the most out of their education, which aligns with their purpose of making a positive impact on the community. Any Louisiana undergraduate student interested in completing a degree in insurance is eligible for the award.
