Chicago Scots, founded in 1845, was the first and is the longest-running not-for-profit organization in Chicago. The organization’s mission is to promote Scottish culture in Chicago through cultural events and community outreach to young Scottish Americans interested in studying in Scotland.
The R. Harper Brown Scholarship is sponsored by Chicago Scots and honors the memory of R. Harper Brown, Society Governor, Kinsman of the Year, and co-chair of the Kith and Kin campaign. The fund aims to reduce the cost of studying at a Scottish university for American students.
