Since 2008, the Mike Rowe Works Foundation has been enabling many across the U.S. to upgrade their lives and advance their skills with over $1,000,000 in scholarships. This year, the foundation is set to award the Mike Rowe Work Ethics Scholarship to eligible students enrolled in or plan to enroll in trade programs in college or vocational/technical schools across the U.S. Through this program, the foundation recognizes people who understand the importance of work ethic, personal responsibility, delayed gratification, and a positive attitude.
The program is designed to financially support the development of skilled labor, especially after the continued increasing cost of higher education and the widening skills gap. The foundation aims to help people get trained for skilled jobs that are in demand by encouraging them to learn useful skills.
In 2022, around 200 students were awarded the Mike Rowe Work Ethics Scholarship. The award amount varies and is estimated by the applicant’s financial information, taxes, and the cost of the desired program.
