Fifty Iowa high school seniors, who complete the Iowa Financial Know-How Challenge: Senior Scholarship, each receive a $1,000 college scholarship. Participants receive email advice on budgeting for education and use two online tools to assist them to understand how to reduce borrowing to pay for it.
Administered by ISL Education Lending, the scholarships are awarded to graduating Iowa high school students who intend to enroll in college during the upcoming fall semester. Two online financial literacy courses and an evaluation will be provided to participants, along with email-based instructions.
All recipients of the Iowa Financial Know-How Challenge: Senior Scholarship will be revealed roughly six to eight weeks after the registration period closes, upon acceptance of the prize. This scholarship program has been able to assist students as well as parents to cater to the gap in their financial needs.
