New York Women in Communications (NYWICI) awards the Interpublic Group Scholarship of $5,000 to promote professional growth and networking opportunities that connect women around the world. It is the premier organization for female communications professionals from senior executives to students and entrepreneurs to young professionals in a variety of communications disciplines.
The Interpublic Group Scholarship program of $5,000 is open to eligible ethnically diverse female students in their junior, senior, or graduate college level. It is usually awarded to two highly qualified students and paid directly to the designated schools. Recipients also receive a one-year membership in NYWICI.
The scholarship program is sponsored by IPG, the holding company for various communications firms, famous advertising and PR brands, including McCann Worldgroup, R/GA, FCB, Deutsch, Weber Shandwick, Golin, and Momentum.

There are two letters of recommendation requested. Both have to have the full contact information on the letterhead. One must be from a professor and the other from an athletic coach, an academic adviser for an extracurricular activity, a supervisor for a job, internship, or volunteer activity.

How the Interpublic Group Scholarship is Judged
Recipients are chosen based on demonstrated leadership, participation in school and community service activities, honors and other awards or recognition, work experience, and statement of goals and aspirations. Financial needs and unusual personal or family circumstances are also considered.

5 Facts About Interpublic Group Scholarship
Geographic eligibility
College undergraduate and graduate students must either be U.S citizens or permanent residents of one of these states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania.
Students must enroll in U.S accredited University
Applicants are eligible if they attend or plan to attend an accredited U.S college or university.
GPA requirement
You must have a minimum GPA of 3.2 (or 87%) before applying, and this must be proven with an official transcript from your college or university.
Students must be in a full-time course
Graduate and undergraduate students in colleges must be enrolled full-time.
Students must commit to participating in internship
Candidates must be able to complete a summer internship with compensation.
