Education Matters – The J.M. Heberlig-B.J. Helterbran Scholarship Fund is an award program initiated by J.M. Heberlig and B.J. Helterbran to curb the financial issues that make attaining a valued education difficult for students.
The scholarship is organized by the Foundation for Enhancing Communities, a charity organization that exists to improve the quality of life in the communities through philanthropic activities. The Foundation was established in 1920 in Pennsylvania.

Background of the founders
Jody M. Heberlig is a high school art teacher while Beth J. Helterbran has been staff in recreation and parks for over 30 years. Both of them came from families who valued and promoted education.
Must be for four–year programs
Applicants of Education Matters – The J.M. Heberlig-B.J. Helterbran Scholarship Fund must be enrolled as a full–time student in a four–year program.
Send a transcript directly from your institution
You must send an official transcript either through the mail or as a certified PDF emailed from your college or university. The transcript should show that you have a minimum of 3.0 overall and 3.3 in your field.
Documents needed for renewal
To be eligible for renewal, you must attach your FAFSA Student Aid Report and a student resume. These must be in your application before you will be considered for renewal.
