Be the Boss Scholarship
GoSkills
To empower the women out there, GoSkills has been providing them with a $2,000 scholarship twice a year — during the fall and spring — to help them start their own online start-ups. The organization feels that, if given a chance, a woman can shape her ideas and build them into a flourishing business, providing employment opportunities to many.
This scholarship is not restricted to any particular profession. To date, it has funded several start-ups, including an online travel company, a hair product business, a cupcake business, a technology company, a clothing line, and an e-commerce company, to name a few.
Any female undergraduate student based in the U.S. and Canada is eligible to apply for this scholarship. Candidates have to fill out an online form, answer a few questions, and share their business plans to apply for the Be the Boss Scholarship.

How to ace the Be the Boss Scholarship
Make a good first impression
Introduce yourself properly to leave a long-lasting impression on the founders. Allow them to learn more about you, your hobbies, your passion, and what inspired you to become a female entrepreneur.
Face your demons
Confront your fear or challenges that are stopping you from executing your ideas. Write about them in detail and how, if given a chance, you plan to overcome them. This will allow the founders to better understand how you plan to invest the scholarship money.
Speak about your female role model
Write about who you idolize and why. Naming someone who has positively contributed to the advancement of society may work as a bonus, as it may help the founders gauge your sense of responsibility and ideologies.
Get your write-up reviewed
Getting your write-up reviewed before submission will help you avoid any spelling mistakes, grammatical, or punctuation errors. Even if your business idea is not related to writing, you don’t want any silly mistakes to mar your chances.
How the Be the Boss Scholarship is Judged
Candidates are judged based purely on their performance on the online test. Their academic performances do not play a role in the selection process.
