The Upper Midwest Security Alliance (UMSA) is concerned with supporting companies and professionals in the field of security, but also with the education of those who wish to be a part of the field. That is why they created the UMSA Foundation, to give opportunities to those who are pursuing their degrees.

They are looking for students in the following fields: cybersecurity, business continuity and disaster recovery, governance, risk, and compliance, and physical security. Applicants should be residents of states in the Upper Midwest region and can be from any grade level. The UMSA Foundation Scholarship award is valued between $1,000 and $3,000 to 12 students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs related to the above-mentioned fields.

The program is open to all eligible students and is evaluated fairly. Members of the board, foundation, and relatives are not eligible to apply.

Values higher education

The foundation supports students and values higher education by awarding 12 undergraduate and graduate students every year, allowing more people access to higher education. There are four $3,000- awards and eight $1,000- awards, to be given depending on the candidate’s application.
