The foundation arm of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) seeks to support the growth of Amateur Radio through its numerous scholarship programs. The Helen Laughlin AM Mode Memorial Scholarship was created in memory of the late Helen Laughlin.
The $1,000 scholarship is awarded to one winner a year. To be eligible to apply, interested individuals should be amateur radio operators who are pursuing an undergraduate degree at a four-year college or university. Candidates who have made contact in the AM Mode are given priority.
Residents of Texas are given the utmost priority. If no qualified candidate is found from Texas, considerations will be extended to Arkansas, and then the residents of the ARRL West Gulf or Delta. Women are also given preference.
