QuestBridge is a nationally recognized nonprofit that helps outstanding students from low-income backgrounds dream big and realize that a top college is possible. Every year, QuestBridge awards its QuestBridge Match Scholarship of $200,000 to deserving students to further their education and earn an undergraduate degree at one of the 50 partner schools.

This scholarship program offers low-income students $50,000 a year and $200,000 for the entire undergraduate program of four years. The award is to cover tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, and travel expenses if applicable. Funding for this scholarship comes from college partners of the program along with state and federal aid.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, enrolled or plan to enroll in accredited institutions. They must provide their financial information, grade transcripts, their standardized test scores, and their present work experiences along with their applications. There are also two essays required as well.

How to ace the QuestBridge Scholarship

Start the application process right away

You should start the application process as soon as possible. This will allow you enough time to acquire all necessary documents and complete all forms and work on your personal statement. Have everything organized and planned to avoid any last-minute complications.

Choice of references and early notifications

Your references or recommenders must be those who know you well enough to be willing to speak to your abilities and demonstrate why you make the perfect candidate for this scholarship. So, choose them wisely. Also, contact them and send them the required forms very early on to allow them enough time to complete them.

Demonstrate good academic standing

This scholarship is need-based and doesn’t have a minimum GPA requirement. However, potential candidates must maintain good academic standing. Work hard to keep your grades up. Grades will be an indicator of how dedicated and serious you are. Remember you must ace your SAT and ACT exams.

Provide a resume full of your work experience in community service and extracurricular activities that demonstrate leadership you took in several projects in your community, neighborhood, or school. Judges are looking for those with a lot of community involvement and young people who are and will continue to be great leaders.
