Kansas Ethnic Minority Scholarship
The Kansas Board of Regents
The Kansas Ethnic Minority Scholarship was founded by the Kansas Board of Regents to help academically gifted students who identify as members of any of the following ethnic or racial groups: African Americans, American Indian/Alaskan Natives, Asian/Pacific Islanders, or Hispanics.
Ethnic Minority Scholarship winners may receive up to $1,850 per year ($925 each semester) depending on financial need as determined by Federal Methodology using data from the FAFSA and the availability of state funding. Recipients must attend a college in Kansas and be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours per semester.
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria: ACT score of at least 21 or SAT score of at least 1060 – 1090, cumulative high school GPA of 3 or higher, high school rank in the upper 33%, competition of Kansas Scholars Curriculum, selection by National Merit Corporation in any category, or recognition as a Hispanic Scholar by the College Board.
