How to ace the Full Circle & Tribal College Scholarship

1

Take a professional photo

Have a friend take a professional photo of you. Ensure that the lighting is good and use the phone in landscape mode for the best size photo. Make sure that your blouse, shirt, or sweater is smart-casual as it may appear in the photo. You can crop the picture to a good size for upload.

2

Craft your reflections

The reflection questions give you a chance to talk a bit more about yourself, the challenges you’ve overcome, your educational and career goals as well as how accomplishing them will impact the Native American community. Craft your answers on a separate document and paste them into the online portal. Ensure that your writing is concise, error-free, and within the 300-word limit.

3

Revamp your résumé

Update your résumé to include your most recent engagements. Don’t just list what you did, include brief details of your impact as well. Did you improve the efficiency of operations or lead a team to serve a neglected section of the community? Include that. Change the design too to give it a fresh look.

4

Review your entire application

Once you’ve finished everything, go through your application and check whether any errors might have sneaked in. Also have a mentor, teacher, or friend go through your application. They will help you identify any errors you may have made.
