Women in Aerospace Foundation
The WIA Foundation was founded in 2009 as a non-profit educational institution. It has over 80 organizational, non-profit, and partner institutions and more than 2,000 members. Their main objective is to motivate women to pursue careers in the aerospace sector.
The foundation has three missions: Create more awareness of the aerospace industry’s importance and benefits; boost people’s perception of aerospace science and technology and encourage female students to build the skills necessary to innovate and lead in the advancement of technology in the aerospace field.
Part of the application process involves writing a 500–1,000 word essay. The essay topic is a response to the provided prompt. You also need to submit recommendations and your grade transcripts.
Each scholarship beneficiary must send a signed scholarship agreement letter as part of the selection process, stating that she will use scholarship funds only for her education and will return any unutilized funds to the Foundation.

Focus on your academics
The WIA Foundation Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship in which the applicant is expected to be bright in their studies. A minimum GPA of not less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required.
Place more value on writing abilities
Because writing an essay is required as part of the application process, concentrate on your writing skills and on adding value to your essay through relevant logical points. Besides that, make sure your application is free of grammatical and spelling mistakes.

How the WIA Foundation Scholarship is Judged
The WIA Foundation Scholarship is a competitive grant purely on merit. The WIA Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee will review applications and choose a winner based on three criteria: application/transcripts (25%), recommendation letters (25%), and essay (50%).

The WIA Foundation scholarship applicants should be enrolled at the U.S. or its territories recognized institution or university.
Each entry requires a separate application
Each entry is limited to one scholarship application, which means that the applicant will only be able to submit the scholarship application once.
Scholarship is provided by WIA foundation
The sponsor of this scholarship is the Women in Aerospace Foundation. It is a not-for-profit organization and aims to encourage women to pursue careers in aerospace, expand women's opportunities for leadership in aerospace, and increase women's visibility in the aerospace community.
Eligible applicants must be in college
The scholarship is only for those students who are going to or are already pursuing a bachelor's degree and only applicants who will enter their junior or senior year in the college in the upcoming academic year are eligible.
Payment of the scholarship
The Women in Aerospace Foundation will verify the scholarship winner's enrollment in a recognized university/institute with the registrar of that institution and will pay the scholarship by check straight to the winners' institutions in the fall, once admission has been affirmed.
